Most full hook-up campgrounds are awning to slide-out, awning to slide-out RV subdivisions. But, are there any campgrounds out their with full hook-ups that look like campgrounds? That's at least one that you would be happy with. Hope some members from that area will give you more tips. The full hookup sites are fairly open some small trees , nice and wide, and pull throughs to boot. The facilities are new and the showers are private. If you go in spring or fall, the lack of trees won't be too big a deal. In the heat of summer it can get uncomfortable. For a private campground, we like Poncho's Pond in Ludington for most of the same reasons showers aren't private. I'm sure there are many other places that are good also; we just haven't been there yet! Jay Jaybo and Jan Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. We have a few places we just love to go camping at but the majority of them are not full hookups. In the post mentioned before, I would not choose Dutch Treat, they are pretty close together and we felt like we were at an assembly more than a campground our opinion of course If you are looking into private, we LOVE Ludington and Poncho's is a favorite and have also been to Vacation Station also nice, just prefer Ponchos - my opinion. Another favorite by Ludington is in Manistee Nat'l Forest but there are no hookups there at all. Campsites are paved, very spacious, full hook-ups, or electric only. If you want trees, drive to the visitor center and walk thru the virgin pine forest. It takes your breath away. There are also many other hiking trails and two small scening fishing lakes. One is Holland State Park on Lake Michigan Ottawa Beach , the other is William C. If you go to: www. Hope this helps you! Enjoy our beautiful state! It had full hookups and was HUGE ~50x100 , with a nice, big oak tree for shade. The park was very quiet, and the bathrooms were modern and clean. It's not on the water although they do have a pool , but a 10-15 minute drive on the back roads will get you to a real nice county beach on Lake Michigan. They're also adjacent to a canoe livery if you're interested in that. This year we visited Ludington farther north on the coast , and based on a recommendation of a fellow forum member, we stayed at. I will second that recommendation. It has a fairly small but very nice and sandy beach, a well-stocked camp store, rec-room, playground, non-power boat rental, no concrete, and most important of all to us , plenty of trees. Some of the sites are narrow and unlevel, some are flat and wide. We were on 85 and it was definitely the latter. It had full hookups, too. A winner in my book. While in Ludington, we did drive-thrus of both and. Of the two, we preferred Poncho's Pond, but both are the stereotypical treeless RV park -- not the type of park we enjoy. I think that we will consider using this information in developing our camping plans for next year. White River looks appealing because it is very close to Michigan Adventure, my all time favorite amusement park in Michigan. We may also attempt an extended trip to the west coast of Michigan try Poncho's pond or Crystal Lake. This Topic Is Closed.
